When I bought my Walther Talon springer, the first couple shots cracked like a 22. After reading the posts about oil in the bore igniting, is that what happened and caused the crack? I haven't heard it since and that's been several years.
It's possible the oil from the manufacturer burned off the first couple shots. I had a couple cheap Crossman nitro piston rifles do that. Also your rifle is rated at 1200 fps in .177 so it could have been a sonic crack.
