Most people will either think this a lie or unsportsman like behavior but I have killed a spike bull and a cow with one shot apiece using (I can hear the gasps already) a Colt Woodsman. Both dead before the echo was gone. Both VERY controlled situation with a man with a rifle backing me up ( he wasn't necessary). Both broadside head shots both died instantly. While guiding dozens of clients for deer, elk, and antelope that same Woodsman finished off many down but not dead elk.
