Killed a bul elk at about 30 yards with a 45 colt Blackhawk, 5.5” bbl, 300gr Beartooth WFN hard cast over healthy dose of H110. 1st shot hunched him up, 2nd shot folded him up.
Taken a number of whitetail and hogs with both 44 mag and 45 colt...hard cast 300gr loads are my preference for both.
Shot one whitetail with a 1911 45 ACP, 230gr ball, through one shoulder, no exit...ran a bit. Switched up to Underwood 255gr +p, Will hunt deer with it this fall.
