Anyone here kill an elk with a shot from a handgun? If so, share the details. Gun, distance, caliber, bullet, effect on elk, etc. It's on the short list to do for me...every year I have a 10mm or 44 mag on me, just never have been close enough or positioned correctly.
Killed two bulls with a M29 S&W and 250 gr cast Keith bullets
Both were previously wounded by someone and I just happened to catch up to them to apply the finisher. One was a mess, so was shot at about 6 ft. The other was still quite ambulatory and was shot at 65 yards.
