My deceased uncle shot a 476 lb. bear in the Adirondacks in 1967 with a 336 Marlin in 35 Rem which held the state record for a number of years. I've got 20+ big game rifles in various calibers and actions but honestly in the places I hunt and at the range I shoot most deer and bear I could hunt the rest of my life using a 336 Marlin in 35 Rem.
