I've long desired a cavalry trooper's Springfield trap-door carbine. Maybe some day.
I have one in good shape. Unfortunately it's a cut down rifle
Local shop had one like that about 20 years ago, for less than $4oo. Whoever modified it did a very convincing job. As happens to me so often, I 'slept' on it a bit too long.
