Flintlocke, I. think that Remington Keene made the rounds. Sons of Katy Elder, El Dorado, and again in Joe Kidd! 😁😁😁😁 with and w/o scope.

Love the Remington Keene rifles!

There were two different rifles used. The first was a short magazine tubed deluxe sporter rifle chambered in .45-70 from Stembridge Arms prop house. It was usually scoped in movies it appeared in such as Joe Kidd( James Wainwright), Sons of Katie Elder(James Gregory) or Young Guns II( Viggo Mortensen) and unscoped in El Dorado(Diane Strom). This rifle is on current display at the NRA museum.

The second rifle is a long magazine tubed deluxe sporter chambered in .40-60 Marlin with a full length long tube scope with custom offset mounts in the movie Crossfire Trail( Brad Johnson) this rifle was specially modified by Ken Howell of R&D gunshop for the actor to use in the movie.

Honorable mention to the Ross M-10 .280 Ross used by Clint Eastwood in Joe Kidd during the counter sniper standoff scene with Olin Mingo(James WainwrIght).
