My uncle worked at the Remington ammunition plant until he died about 12 years ago. At the time, they could buy ammo for $1 a box and premium ammo at $5 a box. They had a guy that worked there was buying his ammo and then selling it to people for a profit. My uncle said the guy caught caught due to an IRS/ATF crackdown on him. I do know the guy was arrested and lost his job. Also, Remington then put limits on how much ammo employees were allowed to buy a year after that. I also think they were limited to 3 guns a year as well.
