We are all set for another year and just waiting on the weather to help us get started. It took 4 of us this year to tap with 30+ inches of snow to go through but we got it done in 3 days. Had a little flow yesterday but not enough to think about messing with but verified everything is right. Hopefully have some syrup available in a couple weeks. We have a new to us filter press this year that'll filter the syrup beyond the filter system we was using. We also got a 2000 gallon stainless steel tanker from a milk truck for sap storage allowing us to have 3000 gallon storage now. We added on another 300 taps last fall also. Everything is on vacuum bringing the sap to the sugarhouse for us so no more hauling anything.
Prices for syrup have gone up slightly as they raised flat rate prices again, the last time they increased we didn't change our price but now we have to, new syrup jug prices went up a little too.
