I went from wearing hiking boots from the various Meindl lines and my feet were sore if standing all day. I now wear super light 5.11 tactical boots. My daily wear ones are not the black ones with reinforcements and water proofing. I also have those and they are more comfortable than hiking boots too, but the super light ones are sweet and easy to get on and off.
The lighter the better here in my opinions. Oh and they cost half what is used to spend
