The first 24 years of my hunting life I was without a .30'06. Then in 1988 I started preparing for my first elk hunt so I "needed" another rifle. I decided on a Winchester M70 Featherweight chambered in .30'06 and killed the best bull I've been blessed with. Still am attached to my 7x57 but, if the number of rifles count the old '06 is superior and can do it all. wink
