That can’t be true. One of the cops on here told me they never kick in your door on a welfare check unless they smell a body.
Firefighters routinely force entry for medical calls (and other dumb stuff), they usually have da po-po there for their safety.....another swing and miss......
Been on several hundred if not a thousand welfare checks, never booted a door unless an active disturbance (ie exigent circumstances were observed).
Say you get a call out to my 70 year old brothers house for a welfare check.
I’m the 911 caller from another State. I tell 911 I’ve been in daily contact with my brother for a week since he started feeling sick. I haven’t heard from him in two 24 hours.
You show up at his home, his truck in the driveway. You call his cell that 911 gave you ~ nothing. Doors, windows locked. No answer to your knock, it’s the Police.
