Myself, it has been my most useful chambering for decades . Until Alliant came up with their new powders and so many great new bullets came on market, I was fairly traditional. I used the 4831's, 4350's etc with much success. I seldom use them now because Reloder 26 and 16 have displaced them.
Reloder 16 on the 130's and 26 for the heavies, it is amazing stuff. Bull Elk are the baseline game animal here and I prefer the Nosler 150 gr Partition over RL 26 and the Hornady 130 gr GMX/ RL 16.
The 150 Partition @ 3030 fps from a 22" barrel is a great first choice for Elk and Moose, imo

RL16 on the 130s......I've used the 4831s for 50+ years but this RL16 has em beat IMO.
The RL26 for 150s and 160s gave exceptional performance.
