Texas beef BBQ smoked with mesquite is mighty darn good, but pork is best smoked with hickory or oak. I like both the vinegar style sauce and the mustard style on pork as I think both are good. My preference of the two for pork is vinegar and I also like a tomato based sauce. Pork smoked with mesquite is OK, but mesquite goes best with beef and chicken. I would not throw any of it out, but hey I like chili both with and without beans as well. JMNSHO,YMMV.
