Meadow Creek Basin is right off Taco's nose and there is a good trail from the bottom, Wood River, right to the spot where those news pictures were taken.

I have pictures of me and Taco within a hundered yard or so of the news pictures and on a strong mule you can be there in a few hours with a lunch break.

The picture in my avatar is on the north slope of Franc's peak and the attack was on the south side.

Lots of quicksand on that flat during the summer.

It's not unusual to see a dozen bears up there in the right few week of the larva hatch.

What kind of larvae draw in bears?
