I had a 336 rebored and chambered by JES rebore, to 38-55 Win.. I have neck problems and had to quit my 45-70, but I wanted a straight walled cartridge. I had a problem making myself down load the 45-70s, so now I can't hurt myself as bad! The 38-55 is a good compromise, and the recoil is manageable. JES bores it to the same diameter as the .375, so jacketed bullets aren't a problem like in some of the older rifles with slightly larger bores.
