With the range you stated a quality (2-7, 2.5x8, or 3-9) with good eye relief should do. If you can find one, the Conquest 2.5-8x32's fit Ruger No.1's very well. The longer tube helps a bunch in getting eye position right. As mentioned the offset ring on the rear base helps too.
