My #1B .243 wore the old full size Vari XII 3-9X AO.
No problems.

But that was yrs ago.
My neck and shoulders aint the same.
Rifle long since gone.

My current #1B .22-250 wears a Vari XIII 3.5-10X AO (40mm) and I use a rear extension ring.
My #1 RSI .243 wore an old M8 4X and there too, a rear ext ring....just needed a little bit due to wearing heavier clothing (deer rig).

Will proly yank the M8 10X AO off my #3 and move to the #1.
Too bad Burris doesn't make posiline rings for Rugers (and an ext version).
My#3 wears gloss posiline standards, so my M8 still looks good.

I absolutely detest Ruger rings. Parting line isn't on center, and varies, so you have to dress them to reduce chance of scope finish damage.
And since the parting line differs, as does contouring, ring tops may end up being ring specific (and orientation on ring).

Most folks don't pay attention.

Have seen one Burris Zee ring and one set of Reg Ruger rings that were screwed up, customers didn't notice and scope damage the result.

I have an EGW base for a B. But haven't started a build yet that will wear it.
