The Chinese term is Sheng nu. It generally applies to single women 27 and older.
And even that is changing, figure more like 30 if she has a degree and has a career.
That said, a colleague got married about six months after telling me she thought she would be a bad wife and that she would prefer to be single. She finally succumbed to family pressure, married the guy that had been arranged and immediately got pregnant. She’s happy being a mom, but admits it was a marriage of convenience. Her 29th birthday was coming up, this was back in 2018.
