I don't see a problem with the proposed law from the legislature. There are only a handful of states that have the resign to run laws in the first place. And some of those like Texas are fairly specific which offices are included and which are not. For example Ted Cruz did not have to resign when he was running for President.

I'll be voting for Trump again. That doesn't mean I think all competition should be shut off by any means necessary.
