While "new" deer rifles come and go for me, and some actually get used, I tend to gravitate to the old favorites that I carried over my lifetime. Heading into the woods with one of them provokes memories of past hunting trips, and are as comfortable as old shoes. 50+ years of searching for the ideal deer rifle has often seen me circling back to my hunting roots.
