Yes, I am on the western slope in Avon. the 30-06 is great, but I shoot a lot, as in 150 rounds a week, and although recoil is not bad, at that many, it wears on you. the other rounds listed do everything the '06 does 180 and under. and i would never use anything heavier than 180, just because a 180 x bullet is gonna hurt'em something fierce.
