Differences of opinions and preferences make the horserace interesting. Otherwise the only guns sold would be 10/22s, 12 ga 870s, 30-06s, and 45 ACPs.

But I also agree with the prevailing advice that the Mountain Rifle in .280 would be really hard to beat.
