Why? I understand/agree with the ruling as far as the county's right to prohibit the gun show at the county fairground. Why would they bother to list the taking of guns from freedmen in the South as one of the reasons for the 14th's creation and yet reject that it(the 2nd) was intended from the beginning to be directly incorporated? If you were going to deny direct incorporation why would you even put that in the decision? Is there some other reason besides allowing more regulation and creating a higher standard for plaintiffs to bring forward their cases, that they used selective incorporation? I read the whole decision BTW.
