I used a .284 Win for years. I guess it isn't obsolete by definition, but you won't find many caring about using it...only its brass for the numerous wildcats it has spawned.

I now have a .338 Federal. I like to think of this cartridge as "nouveau retro."

I'm really kicking around the idea of a 6.5x55. It is between it, the .260 Rem and the venerable .270 Win. If the Swede gets the nod, I'll be retro, yet again.
