We have bull barrels or bushing, extractors moving around, different types of safeties, stainless steel, carbon steel, polymer, aluminum alloy, scandium, ramped and no-ramp barrels, and dozens of magazine designs.
To say 1911 in a generic terms makes as much sense as lumping a Glock in with a Jennings.
