Two old brothers I hunted with had Marlin lever actions chambered in 38-55. I don't recall the model number, but they were beautifully made and had octagon long barrels. I have a couple of these in calibers 25-36 and 32-40 that I hunt with.
I also hunt with 30-30,32 win spl,35 rem,375 win,444 mar,44-40 and 38-40 Marlins.
Sometimes I even take out the Savage 99H 303 sav carbine.Its very nice original condition and I hate to scratch it.
