Glad I'm not the only person that thinks the 308 99's kick hard. I definitley prefer my shooting my 300 savage over the 308!

Sorry - I rarely hunt with my marlin because I've had issues with poor extraction with Marlins and my dad always told me to shoot a bolt action because he grew up with levers and also had a rem 742 autoloader that jammed. Maybe the cold northern MN weather and gloves makes operating the action and extraction tough, but a lot of it is what you feel comfortable with and have confidence in. Yet to get a deer with either 99 because I tend to grab my 77 off the rack first...
