I have too many rifles suitable for eastern whitetails. My three lever actions are a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem., a Win. 88 in .308 and a Savage 99 in .300 Sav. I've hunted with the 88 but not with the other two as we lost our favorite hunting spot and haven't replaced it yet.

Incidentally, many Marlin 336s are capable of shooting tight groups at 100 yards. My Model 88, as many 88 users have discovered, can rival most bolt actions in the accuracy department.
