If u take it to the extremes, I'm sure there is a difference -
Proving there is a velocity loss between a 1-9" vs a 1-10" is what the conversation is about.
Look at boat propellers as an example. A very slight change in the pitch makes little difference in top speed. If u drastically increase/decrease the pitch, the differences become more apparent.
