BobinNH is having a rifle retubed to .270 but he had a hell of a time finding a smith that knew how to put a .270 barrel ON a rifle........

Weren't hard to find a smith at all.....any girl can kill with a 7mm.....takes skilz to do it with a 270.
I can hunt with anything I want....I keep using the 270 because it pisses off the detractors....I can laugh at them.Adds humor to my day.
I unnerstand, brother Bob, but not everybody is content to limit the game they seek to tree rats and the distance to 20' or less. Others hunt bigger species, like groundhogs, and shoot long range...shots to 50 or even 100' are not uncommon, and that is where a 280 or 7mm Mashburn comes into their own.
