I know a guy who has taken the .223 with the 90gr VLD to 1760 yards with good success. That bullet has an almost identical BC to the better .243 bullets like the 105gr Horn HPBT and the 115gr VLD, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble out to 1000, and a bit beyond. The 105AM is no 6.5mm or 7mm, but that's why I've got bigger rifles
