It'll shoot 85's OK. It came with a .3" aggregate factory target of three 5 shot groups. The load was 60 gr. Sierras and 3031 powder. It seems to really like 60 gr. bullets and that's what I feed it.
I've never hunted game with it. It's more of a long range varmint and pest rifle and that's what it's set up for.
One could probably hunt deer with 85 gr. NPT's or similar if a single shot, 10#+ rifle was desired...
