Dignified means having some self-respect. Personally I would never go on a long pack trip with a bunch of plastic equipment made for newbies. Have enough respect for the noble art to learn the traditional way of doing things.
We have a lot mustangs in Nevada, more than any other state and they have come a long way. Many herds like the Pryor Mtns, MT and the Red Desert Herd, WY are known for quality stock. Ranchers turned loose their stud horses in the winter to run with the wild horses around here. Mustangs have stamina, self-preservation and good feet. They are being trained for many kinds of work and many go to the US Border Patrol from the prison in Carson City. Mustangs have never been bred for color, big feet, a big hip or any other fashionable trend. Many are cowy. My thinking has changed completely in the last 30 years and I am now a fan of the mustangs that show up everywhere.
