I worked at the Nevada Test Site, north of Las Vegas, from 1969 thru 1992.There were probbaly 100 head of horses there. Obviously there were no turned out studs since the test site can only be entered if you have a security clearance or are escorted.
Probably the sorriest looking horse I have ever seen. One thing though, they survive very well in that desert country and I never saw a skinny one.
