I have played with the Woodleighs a little bit and actually shot a black bear last week with one. They are quite accurate out of a Model 700 that I bobbed the barrel on. They make a pretty good short range hammer out of a 270. In all honesty, however, I think they're more a novelty than anything else.

For elk I've been using Barnes 130's and 110's with great results in recent years.

Lotsa great choices for a 270 on an elk hunt.
