I just got a new 2014 Ford F-150 Supercrew 5 1/2 foot box pickup with 3.55 axle, Ecoboost engine, 4WD and Off-Road package. Holy wah, I like this truck. I put a Lear cap on the bed. It came with some pretty aggressive all season tires.

However, the gas mileage has been quite disappointing compared to my expectations and the EPA estimates. I am only getting about 15 mpg on the highway, and that is with a very light foot on the accelerator.

I have heard that these trucks get better mileage after they have a few thousand miles on them. Just wondering what anybody else's experience is with fuel economy in a similar truck.

So far my cure for the disappointing fuel mileage is to stop calculating it and just enjoy driving the thing.
