My ride is now a 2000 Kawasaki W650, basically an improved early Bonneville. In June I rode it down the coast to Venice from Gig Harbor, Washington.

Thanks Dave. Forgot to mention that I found it with just over 2,000 miles on it.

That’s a sweet ride, got to luv them Ducs’. Is that a multistrata 1260?
When the weather breaks I’ll try and take a few pics of the Monster 1200r.

Its a 2014 1200 with full termi exhaust (no cat) and dyno tuned. 139 hp to the ground, should be just under 160 at the crank. I bet on the little Monster R its amazing.

I plan to do some riding and camping in TN soon. Never ridden up there. Lots of motorcycle maps floating around of course. Any recommended routes? Shoot me a PM.

One of the great joys of modern retro style bikes, is that they are very reliable. You get the feel and look of an antique, with the turn it on and go riding, of a modern machine. This is one of the things I like about the lowrider. I'm 65, and pretty much done with going 150 and risking life and limb at every corner. I can putt around, feel the thing at low speeds, and I don't have to wrench on it for 4 hours, to get a one hour ride. Awesome stuff. Seems to me they've been making that 650 for many years. I remember it as a Japan only bike, in the 70's.

I went thru many small towns and gas stations were open everywhere.
The cheapest price I saw was $1.49/9 NEXT to I 30. Surprised me, where it was.
We set a Record Hi temp for March 26 in Ark of 87*
I was pretty warm when I got back.

I've never ridden one of those but always wanted to try one.

I rode a TW200 for a couple of years and it was kinda nice to throw a rifle and caller on, take back roads to several spots, ride in, call coyotes, then move on to the next spot. It was pretty weak but was workable on rough trails mountainside trails, actually worked really well but I wasn't ripping.....finally got fed up with how poor it was on roads. Maybe fast bikes will get you killed but that SOB TW200 was so slow I had to be real careful about which routes I took to avoid getting run over from behind.

Suzuki makes a fat wheeled motorcycle similar to the TW200. If those bikes had a 450 in them I would like to have one at the farm but a 200 will only get you run over on anything other than a dirt road.

Looks like some beautiful country you have around there... I'll have to ride down there myself some day before I'm too old/stiff to get it done...

Thanks Redneck. The N W 2/3 of the State has some of the prettiest country to be found.
The EAST side from the Miss. River is basically FLAT farm land.

The Southern part of the State is 'mostly' DEER country. It's mixed private and timber co. land.
We have MANY State Parks and Lakes.

There is PLENTY of Scenic riding to be had. There are Motorcycle Riding maps of the State.

Come On Down !

Found a pretty decent ‘77 yz400 for cheap.

I regularly get the urge to relive the dirt bike escapades of my yout'. However, I don't live on a farm anymore, nor do I have the cartilage I once did. I figure if I could find a way to rent one for a couple hours, it would quickly cure me of my desire to get back into it.

But please post pics & videos of that yz400. Living vicariously is much easier on my back.

The old YZ apparently sold this week. Thankfully.

I have however convinced myself I now need a new(er) yz250x. Hah!
