We raise and butcher our chickens. Final processing and wrapping prior to the freezer is done in the kitchen. When we’re done, everything has the aroma of bleach.
When I roast a whole chicken, I rinse the cavity. There is always residual stuff in there. When properly cooked it’s fine, but I rinse nonetheless.
No other meats, nor the outside of the bird. So, depends on what you mean by “wash”.

I should have said rinse… I do the same with the cavity.

Always rinse since raw poultry seems to be a magnet for salmonella and salmonella can make you real sick. I know people who love raw oysters and think that a case of salmonella poisoning every few years is a risk worth taking.

Would like to hear the lemon pepper wings recipe if you got a chance. I’ll Be doing teriyaki and hot wings as well. I’ll probably deep fry them instead of the oven. Keeping it simple 4 lb chicken wings 1/4 cup avocado oil (can also use canola) 1/4 cup butter, melted 2 tablespoons lemon-pepper seasoning Instructions Preheat the oven to 400F. Toss chicken wings and oil. Place wings on a wire rack set on a baking sheet, taking care not to crowd wings. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove wings from the oven. Mix melted butter and lemon-pepper seasoning and brush liberally onto wings (stir butter mixture as you go to make sure you have plenty of seasoning for each wing). Place on a platter and serve immediately.

Didn’t hear should Dawn Soap be applied or Douching the birds gut hole with Clorox (which is a great idea for work surfaces afterwards) Rinse, is correct LOL 🦫

Yeah I rinse the slimy blood water off, not because of bacteria but just because it's nasty.

Just to be clear, I did not mean with soap. Cold water like Mike said. Sheesh
Some beef needs the bone from processing removed too.
Just to be clear, you are not intelligent. Lol

I rinse the blood off my venison if I cut and wrapped it too early and there is a bunch in it when I thaw it. I also rinse off the chicken breasts when I cut them out of the plastic.
