And Ukraine will be more West than East, and Russia will be bankrupt and speaking Chinese.
I don't see how a Chinese speaking Russia (translation: the coalescing Russia and China into confederation) can be in the interests of the United States.

So Piglosi was not having a spaz attack in the SOTU when Bidet ordered, as did Flimsy Graham, someone to "go get him" meaning go get Putin. Suckers are getting desperate. Their house of cards is falling. Trump already took out the House of Saud who was a big financier. Now the Ukrainian neo-nazi cash cow is falling.
I seem to remember Q posting something about the fact John Podesta would be going down. Remember what Julian Assange did and what Trump said about catching them. As Q said, "We have it all". Q also said the same about Podesta and Seth Rich. Seems Podesta used ms 13 to take Donna Brazil's declared but unnamed "leaker" out. Podesta replied in his tweet to her he could get the job done.

Ive been listening to Prof Mersheimer for years and have attended his lectures. Leading authority on NATO and Ukraine
To a hammer, everything looks like a nail. To an empire, everything looks like a crisis to justify a multi-trillion-dollar military-industrial-security complex as dictatress of the world. The crisis du jour for the American empire is Russia‘s aggression against Ukraine. The political establishment and the mainstream media assign responsibility to President Putin’s megalomaniac ambition to recreate the Soviet empire. The Committee welcomes Ray McGovern and John Mearsheimer as a breath of fresh air. They shoulder the United States with a fair share of the blame: the never-ending expansion of NATO cheek by jowl to Russian borders provoked the invasion ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-alx... ); Russia fears nuclear weapons on its borders as more menacing than the Cuban Missile Crisis was to the United States. Ray and John will offer some thoughts regarding how to bury the hatchet and move forward. We all look forward to what we know will be a robust discussion.
John Mearsheimer returns for the third time as a salon speaker. We hosted John for his trenchant analysis of the abject failure our quest for global dominance and for his courageous book with Steve Walt on the liability of American support for Israel. John is the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, where he has taught since 1982. He graduated from West Point (1970), has a PhD in political science from Cornell University (1981), and has written extensively about security issues and international politics. In 2003, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and in 2020, he won the James Madison Award, given by the American Political Science Association to “an American political scientist who has made a distinguished scholarly contribution to political science.” His principal work on Ukraine is “Why the Ukraine Crisis Is the West’s Fault: The Liberal Delusions That Provoked Putin,” appearing in September-October Foreign Affairs 2014. The video of his talk has been viewed more than 14 million times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrMiS....
Ray McGovern is a long-time Russian specialist. After serving as an Army combat intelligence officer in the early 60s, Ray joined the CIA’s analyst ranks. His first portfolio focused on the Sino-Soviet conflict, which was deftly exploited by Nixon/Kissinger (with more than just interpreter assistance from our own Chas Freeman). As chief of the Soviet Foreign Policy Branch, Ray’s analytical team supported the SALT negotiations and he was in Moscow for the signing of the ABM Treaty, cornerstone of strategic stability for the next three decades. Ray correctly predicted Brezhnev's invasion of Czechoslovakia but incorrectly predicted Putin would not invade Ukraine. Ray thinks the new Russia-China entente helps explain Putin's gamble. But we've seen how Nation building foreign policy has worked the past 30 years.Thousands of dead young brave Americans, thousands with horrific injuries, thousands of vets committing suicide every year, billions of dollars wasted and defense contractors got richer and much of those billions went to the enemy . For what?
If I see pit bulls with AIDS, rabies and hepatitis fighting am I going to step in and stop the fight knowing the risks? Phug that
Donate to honest and vetted refugee agencies
I keep hearing Trump, "No more endless foreign wars!"
The neocon dominated MSM has us believing the whole world is jumping up and down in support of the regime they stood up in Ukraine. Zelensky literally used to play the President of Ukraine on television, literally. Meanwhile speculators push energy and agricultural commodity prices toward record highs. The heavy hand of government's Covid-19 dictates fade into distant memory. While equity markets appear to plummet amid 7+% inflation. When in reality they're just under correction following ballooning pandemic pricing driven by the global flight into US securities and unprecedented stimulus. In the background federal legislators push funding for agendas aimed at resolving myriad crisis erupted from failed policy, completing another round in the endless cycle of grift. The shocker for most would be, if they allowed themselves to see it, that this is all just business as usual.

Thanks Ribka. Ironically, I've been reading Mearsheimer's Tragedy of Great-Power Politics and various criticisms. I'm drawn to the matter of factness and deductive character of Mearsheimer's realist paradigm. It's a breath of fresh air. I'm going to follow your links and check back in later.

He's is probably one of the top three analysts in the world on Ukraine and on Ukraine Russian politics. No agenda, no BS, Just good fact based analysis. He's a former West Point grad who has been critical of our flawed nation building disastrous foreign policy.

I struggle with Hanson's opening premise that Putin wants to reclaim the 100,000,000 people, territory, and infrastructure Russia lost with the fall of the Soviet Union.
As John Mearsheimer frequently points out there is no evidence for this and Putin has never stated this as his aim. To the contrary, Putin has stated the opposite, as in his infamous quote, "Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain.". The notion that Putin wants to reclaim former Soviet member states was invented by the US media narrative as part of the villainization of Putin and the Russian people toward deflecting fallout (annexation of Crimea) from the 2014 Western planned coup against Ukraine's duly elected President Yanukovych.
