10 out of 10 (literally) of the most recent homes that have sold in my subdivision have been sold to California transplants.
They act like it too.
The trespassers who cut down my fence and ran their jacked up Bro truck across my cabin property to retrieve the elk they poached (they were only out of their unit by about 8 miles and the season was closed) were from Tahoe. The bigger one, when I told him to get the fug off my property had the balls to tell me that I was "Coming at him kinda hard" and bow up on me. Stupid fug. Their entitlement mentality was unreal. My oldest child was with me and that was likely the only thing that saved those idiots.
The reputation they have has been well earned. Some folks just don't know, when they don't know enough about the person they decide they ought to challenge. I am glad you came out of the confrontation with no legal encumbrances. I recognize your situation as my folks dealt with the same issues with trespassers on a weekly basis '68-'75 during pheasant season. Only our problems were all caused by folks driving rigs with ID 1A plates.

About like Texas, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Iowa......
They are rare here.
We get Northern Virginians, DC'ers and Baltimorons.
A lot through Officers Christian Fellowship.
Mostly good enough folks, but they aren't like us and they price us out of
owning property, I resent them. Even while likeing some of them.

I’ve only met one that I can recall. He lived a few doors down from me in the same dorm my freshman year of college. So 1996. He was from somewhere near Bakersfield if I remember right. He was a smart, funny, easy going dude.
He studied hard during the week and liked to smoke weed and get drunk on the weekends. Basically the same as the rest of us. Just a pretty mainstream American kid. Politics weren’t a big talking point among us but he wasn’t a leftist.

My wife has a cousin that lives in California, they came over for the holidays last year . First thing he said walking up the driveway was wow you have am American flag you dont see that in California. Of course in a smart ass tone

I was stationed in CA with the USN for 2 years. Absolutely hated that place. Left it in 1995 on orders and swore I would never set foot in it again. It is now 2022 and so far I have been able to keep that oath.
