She balked at first until I told her the fine was $500 and repeat offenders could face 6 months in jail and a $2k fine, and the sheriff might treat each butt as a repeat offense.

Her fat pink and blue haired ass got out and picked each on up and put them in the trash can on the dock.

Someone who tosses cigarette butts out of the window is someone I can easily hate.

I was engaged to a school administrator from San Diego for a short time, longer than I should have been. Her politics and beliefs were so far left you couldn't see them from the center. She was a lot of fun and made serious scratch and was extremely easy on the eyes.

You must be the local badass.
And that’s why people are leaving CA in droves. I don’t condone tossing cigarette butts out of windows. Six months in jail for something as minor as throwing a cigarette butt out the window (but taking a sh1t on the street and tent cities are legal) and then an asshat local running up to your window threatening to turn you in to the cigarette police for a six month jail stint…
No thanks.

You are aware it’s the most populated state in the country…?

I've known some people from California. One, years ago, was the quintessential California surfer-girl and one of the first girls I thought I was in love with. Several Navy buddies from California and they were regular guys. Currently an old Navy friend and an old girlfriend in San Diego and they are good people too.

Believe it or not, there are homegrown azz wholes everywhere and there are immigrants from every state who make where they move to a better place.

Unfortunately for many, it's the idiots that tend go get and hold our attention. Also, many people just need to have someone to look down on or complain about.

In our case, it's not the typical outsider hate. The people flooding in from California are arriving with buckets of money and driving the cost of everything up. For quite a while, a local family shopping for a house had no chance because these people were buying properties over the phone sight unseen for more than the asking price. Then they bitch and moan because the field nextdoor has horses kicking up dust or some forest road isn't paved. And they all buy a truck or SUV upon arrival, soon to be followed by a Razor that they think they should be able to ride anywhere they want as fast as they want. I could go on, but the list would be too long.

And your fellow residents/neighbors are more than happy to empty the buckets, aren't they ?

My friends and neighbors would be happy if we'd built a wall on the Nevada border at McDermott and turned everything with California plates. The majority of developers and contractors making a killing here are also from out of state. Locusts following every boom. Yeah, we'd like to empty a bucket on the heads of all the politicritters and promotors singing "come to Idaho".

There's some fair fishing to be had in California...😋
One if the main reason I have been so successful is that I've always had weekdays off work.
It would be a lot different if I was a "weekend warrior".
Again, likely here know, the only reason I'm still here is because my life is completely intertwined with my wife 30 years and she absolutely refuses to leave lifelong friends and family.
If we were forced to live in a suburb subdivision things might be different.

I live in a beautiful home where I can shoot in my backyard.

The people we call friends are not a single bit different that and solid conservative people that I've ever met in my travels across the United States....that's a fact.

Recent California fishing.
There is very little competition on the rivers during the week.
We have World Class fishing.

Nice. I admire that you're staying and fighting the good fight.

California has some fantastic country and resources. And the state has done some things right in recovering damaged environment and improving it over what it had become by the sixties. I would not be opposed to applying some of their environmental regulations here - the ones that worked and aren't over the line. But those fleeing the place and coming here aren't helping anybody but themselves. Can't blame 'em, but I don't have to respect that.

Thank you.
I know I'm not the "typical Californian".

I only try to show these here at the fire that there are exceptions to the rule and that when you paint things with a broad brush, you aren't always correct.
I definitely know that my friends and myself are not the norm.

I'm pressed for time so I can't get into details. I'll just recommend googling up "The Rat Syndrome in the Scientific American. It give some interesting facts on what happens when populations grow too big. BTW, this was all know way back in 1961.

Speaking of Californians, I left California for good in 1968. Only times I ever went back was for birthdays and holidays with family IF I could get off work. Many times I could not. Now, there is only one person left that can be called kin. A half sister that hates me about as much as I cannot stand her. Big Biden supporter, chewed me out publicly on fecesbook because I supported Trump, rabid gun hater and just plain bitch. No reason to go back and visit. One of us would probably be tried for murder.

He didn't report it cause it didn't happen. Just another attempt to bash anyone or anything California. We all live rent free in his head apparently. If anything this thread illustrates the real reason Mackay boy refuses to traffic his ammo in California. It has nothing to do with the law or his self proclaimed paranoia of being sued or the ATF banging down his door He just hates anyone from California solely on their geograpic location it's all he has to lash out with, pathetic... I'm starting to think some California transplant dude popped his wife.
