Good Lord people. At least argue about something meaningful... like 7mm-08 vs .308!  Don't recall that working out too good for ya the last time that was discussed. Kind of a glutton for punishment aren't ya? Hmm... Let's see... Big Stick asserted that 7-08 is demonstratably "better" than .308 for general-purpose hunting.. ... then he threw out a somewhat dubious load to prove it- a load completely out to lunch velocity-wise as far as every loading manual on the planet is concerned... a load using a bullet almost nobody actually hunts with... at ranges that nobody uses a 7-08 for... ... however, gentleman that I am, I accepted the rather wack terms of the debate, and proceeded to demonstrate a .308 load that matched it... ... at which point he started babbling incoherantly and posting picture after picture of logs and fish and his fat hairy legs... ... at which point I decided to see just how BS his load WAS- how overpressure- which caused him to babble even more incoherently... and fail to provide even basic details of his supposed load. So, Matt, if that's your definition of "punishment", sign me up! By the way, post-pissing-match revisionism to the point of flat dishonestly is a common tactic with your crowd. I'd say you were better than that, but you publically posting private PM's between us kind of changed my opinion on that.... As to THIS pissing match, I have no dog in the fight. It's a pattern with him, just like he'll get on here and tell everyone that I've yet to provide my sources for the info, or Sean hasn't posted his. He'll ignore the fact that I've been doing business with Winchester since 1992 and during the course of that business, would have no idea as to what or when they produced rifles. Like I said, it's a pattern.

What's a Benelli cost like that? Considering a base model K gun is about 10 grand - some 4 grand rifle don't impress me much.
And if you are that loaded - you don't have to sell 3 guns to get one....
