So sorry to hear Scott, I hope your heart heals soon.

Your story reminds me of the rescue dog we lost a couple of years ago, the dog just followed my daughter home from school one day and never left, We discoverd how abused he really was over time, He had had several broken ribs, a broken tail in two spots and it took over a year for him not to flinch when I reached out to pet him and he only did this with me but over time we became best friends, he was probably the dumbest dog I have ever met but that boy sure did have a huge heart. We had him for 7 short years before his body wore out on him and we had to put him down....Damn I miss that dog.

I have that in my documents folder on my computer. Think I will wait a while before I read it again. Just got my glasses clean and don't want to mess them up again.

Scott, those old dogs give us an unconditional, complete and total devotion kind of love and they ask nothing in return. We don't realize the entirety of that love until they're gone.

It'll get better with time.

Sorry about your pup Scott. Loseing a good one does put a hurt on your heart. I have several scars from some I lost over the years. At least you can keep all the good memories now.
