Last year we got scopes, weatherby rifles and binos for dirt cheap right here on the fire. We even had fun making the store employees cough up the hidden merchandise lol
The last 11-87 I bought with the full choke tube the upper right side of the pattern would barley catch the target dot. Will Remington stand behind their barrels?

SO where are the deals???? Please !!!!
Snagged a 700ADL in 7 Rem Mag for $184, and some Leupold rangefinders for $108. So far, most stores have not marked the 700's down, and according to one store manager, won't.

We'll see.
They have not moved down around here and may not. I need a long action mag bolt face donor though....
Whatever you do, don 't call ahead! I had an employee at the gun counter filling in last fall who even told me that employee's friends are the first to know about clearance items.

Fugg em Ruin tiny Tim's xmas in the single wide. Me and slumlord ran into it all last year.
The last 11-87 I bought with the full choke tube the upper right side of the pattern would barley catch the target dot. Will Remington stand behind their barrels?
I got 2 870's in a row that shot like that. IME Remington can't be counted on to stand behind shyt. You couldn't sell me another Remington anything for a nickel. Don't need anymore Junk around here.
How do you guys find the deals online for your local store. Just start searching all the sku’s Or go to the store? Be more than glad to hit the 4 Walmart’s within 20-30 minutes of my house and post deals
I was hoping this would stay secret so I could get more deals! There are Monarch3 and Buckmaster binos on sale. Savage A7 semi auto 17HMR for $184. I cleaned up on $1 a box turkey loads last month. Lots of pocket knives on clearance.
On brickseek it has the option Sku finder Enter Remington 700 or whatever item your looking for Shows what they stock or stocked in the past Some items ain't in sku hunter option also Surf it in the store with a smart phone in that case. Hit little arrow on right to transfer sku to your zip search page
A stock keeping unit (SKU) is a machine-readable bar code, most often seen printed on product labels, that lets vendors expeditiously scan and track the movement of inventory. Typically an alphanumeric combination of eight-or-so characters, SKUs may also be applied to intangible but billable products, such as units of repair time or warranties.
Thanks Kid. So, we get a manager to search the price of the item you want to see if it's on sale?
Tell them also to reboot their scanner Schit show up on brickseek reduced
Dude scan it say nope it ain't marked down
Average schmuck walk away and take their word for it.
Me and slumlord ran into this last year Some honestly rebooted the scanner and the price appeared Some played a game trying to hide discounts hoping you would beleive em
Call store manager if mr clerk says he cant or dont know how.
We ran into schitt like this big time last year. Some of them employees will try their damndest to hide schitt.
Physically and electronically.
People laughed at us last year on some of the schitt we encountered Dept managers or store managers Go over the clerks head.
I actually went over to the hardware dept and had them page the store manager to sporting goods at one store and slumlord played the game with the clerk who was playing a game
Slumlord walked outta their with 2 monarch scopes at 99 apeice that the clerk said was 359 on her scanner till the manager showed up that I called and then I told the manager to reboot and scan the price.
That clerk , a scrungy looking woman who looked like she feel in a tackle box was pissed we got those scopes. You could tell by the scowl on her mug.
TFF. Tiny Tim's trailer park xmas ruined by dickheads with instant disposable income...
Dont put nothing past these employees. Dont take their word when clearance inventory shows on brickseek
Dayom. Thanks Rene. You sure are smart for being crazy.
I dont get played Wont stand for it. No one should. Those scanners are supposed to be updated daily. Thru the store wifi from regional and national hq.
Me and boo- boo ( slumlord) filled up our jellystone pic a nic baskets last year and learned all their attempted jedi mind fuggs.
I believe IIRC sept 8th or 15th was store employee earliest layaway date for em also. It gave em.a 90 period to pay with an option for it to be withheld from their pay
You would be surprised the info you can glean thru conversation from some employees that ain't in the "game" but willingly will tell you what is going on .
1st come 1st serve Money talks ,bullschyt walks
Im paying in full right now mutha fugga,s You get employee scraps for your layaway period when it opens
That's the attitude you have to take with ones playing the " game".
Dominate em with personality and knowledge of their own system Good or bad To your advantage.....
One A17 and a spontaneous love at first sight, an 11/87 20 ga! She was sitting next to her big sister and looked cuter! Much cuter. Top Ramen for the family!
No special trip, no tax, no Nics, no transfer! Yippee
I would have to drive 110 miles to get an A17, which I would really like to have. Not sure if it is worth it. I picked up 3 of the 1187 shotguns on Thursday.
Remember, if it says 2, one is display and one in the back. If it says limited stock, it's the one on display.... But it might be hidden in the back too!
Saw these, not a complete search results for the 11/87...
Butte A17 and 11/87 12ga, Polson A17, Kalispell 11/87 12ga, Bozeman A17 and 11/87, both Missoula 12ga 11/87., Great Falls 10th ave 11/87 12ga, Billings Main St 11/87, other Billings is $349.
Havre has about 8 guns is a glass case. Do other Walmarts have bigger displays?
Yep. From what I saw last year the ones with the spinny cases don't have the uber clearance items. Head this way on the tractor and I will guide you into the city...
I would stick a couple of marlin 60s in the closet if they went clearance.
Way better rifle than ruger 10-22. Fuggin 10lb plastic trigger pos. 3" groups at 50 yrds out of the box. Never again
Was that just with CCIs or with Feds and Rs and Ws also.
My Win 9422mag lever shoots Fed. WIN, REM into an inch at 50 and CCI 22 mags do about 2.5.
IIRC we shot 3 or 4 brands of good ammo thru it one day 1st time in my life I ever shot a 10/22. Between that trigger and the barrel band. It was not impressive. I can see where 500ish bucks in a aftermarket barrel, trigger and stock would help one.
So you have the original bolt assembly and receiver left over from your 150 to 250 original purchase and 500 of aftermarket stuff to make to shoot a 1/2 to 3/4ths inch group.

Probably would be a good idea too to snap a photo, printout, write down, etc., the SKU and UPC/BAR codes, price and quantity of the item(s) you're searching for that Brickseek shows stock in and have it with you when visiting each Walmart or any of the other stores that the Brickseek website covers as it could maybe help track if the item has been legitimately sold or "disappeared / can't find".
On ATF critical items such as modern firearms I would think the "disappeared / can't find" response would be a MAJOR no-no and should trigger an immediate search.

Me and slumarella made the ft Campbell blvd one haul out 7 weatherby,s from their locked cage. Didnt have a single one on display. But brickseek told us their inventory
Bytch didnt wanna do it. Call the manager They had 3 syn in 3 different cals and 4 wood in the 4 cals. Slumlord walked out with a wood .308 and 243 I walked out with a syn .308. Manager told d bag clerk to put em all out . H Whole time this bytch was cussing about it also. We raided her families and friends supply She even said her husband and someone else better get theirs fast under her breath
I'm sure slumlord remembers that bytch. They was gone in 2 days. Tiny Tim's xmas ruined once again Hahaha!!!!!
I think slumlord ended up last year with either 3 or 4 weatherby,s and 4 nikon monarch 3 scopes
I got a .308 and ot6 syn stock and 2 nikon monarch 3 scopes Sold the ot6 and a monarch to a friend In maine at cost plus tax and background check Made 15 bucks.

Tff!!!
You ruined her christmas and friend promised weatherby scam.
They all had ta get rem 770,s in .270 scoped package rifles insted.

Per Brickseek the Super Walmart in Madisonville/Hansen, KY currently shows "Limited Stock" on the 12ga, 3" syn stock, "Sportsman" 1187 shotgun, clearance priced @ $249.
I have no problem with sales staff getting first chance at anything which comes on sale at Walmart. They work for schyt wages for a schyt employer. I know, my wife spent a couple months there. She did not get along well with the morning "worship to the altar of Walmart" sessions.
That said, if they want 'em, they gotta get out the checkbook and get 'em bought before someone else steps up with the cash. Don't they still have lay-a-way at Wally World?

Allowing employees first chance to buy clearance priced items outright is one thing, but falsely telling customers "out of stock", willfully hiding them, or "neglecting" to put out on sales floor in order to prevent customers from buying first should not be permitted and in my opinion an offense that warrants disciplinary action.
Don't know what Walmart's official Christmas layaway start date is this year but last year it was August 31 and had to but picked up by Dec. 10. If they have a year-around layaway I haven't heard or seen anything about it.
I've read too that average hourly pay for full time Walmart employees is now over $14.
Hella bargain. Full size rifle. 22" barrel. Kinda glossy finish was not expected. Heard awhile back from one of the crew he likes them.. Walmart sells discounted already and this is like 52% off that. $369 Buds, $419 Ass Pro.
Sorry guys for the fowl (get it) up with the 20ga. I bought a compact 21" 3" 20 ga with lop spacers, 6.5lb UPC 047700836263 I think the sku is 90995554324 Model 83626

There aren't many full time employees at Wal-Mart and an "average" of 14.00 an hour for full time employees is still shyt wages. There's a convenience store near here that pays 15.00 an hour to start and the local Dairy Qeen has a help wanted sign in the window that says 14.00 an hour to start. Some of you crusty old farts need to get up to date on wages these days. It ain't the 1900's anymore.

Granted you aren't going to get rich at $14 - $15 per hour but it's about 2X minimum wage which ain't too shabby either for jobs that basically require no special skills, advanced training or degrees.

It's only 2x minimum wage in some backwards, behind the times states. Minimum wage is currently 11.10 an hour here and goes up to 12.50 Jan 1, 2021.

Yep, here too. Got a few not available in area results then the that message. Maybe I got the only one? I like the compact bugger. The UPC given is right off the box, whereas the SKU is what came up on Brickseek.com.

Brick seek is not working for the 20 gauge. I have heard it works if you have a Brickseek subscription... like a special for paying members. There is a Dexter link that works, but Dexter does not work for me at all...
You snooze, you lose. Told 3 guys about the A17s at the local WM yesterday at the hunting lease. Had a ballgame to go to last night. This morning there is 0 inventory. Want to guess who owns them now?
I've only read a few reviews of the A17, and they all mention that some have problems with the magazine falling out. Accuracy seems to be close to MOA, some more, some slightly less. The A17 ammo made expressly for the gun seems to be the one to choose.
One guy who had problems with his returned it to Savage and they replaced the majority of parts - including the barrel - before returning it to him.
Personally, I'd rather have the bolt-action version.
Can't find anything on any of the 1187s. They all say not typically in stores, and 0 found odd I press the search further.
The search only covers a short distance (in Western terms, maybe 100 miles?) from the zip code. You gotta search nearby areas by zip code in my experience.
Savage A17 is free floated, everything snug, bases were torgued and blue loctited from the factory. With a Hawke Endurance 4-12 that's been hanging around.
Picked up an 11-87 in 12 gauge and Youth model 20gauge (for my 6 year old) this morning. Both display models. Had excellent help from the same fella who helped me out with Weatherby's last year. It's nice to have a local walmart with a few who actually know something about guns.
Grabbed a few clearance pocket knives as well.
I let that A17 sit on the shelf................may go back and grab it.
Got my 1187 for $249. Today. Thanks Again MtnBoomer!!!

So I Ask for the Mgr. Lady Mgr shows up after 20 minutes! And after another 20 minutes, they FIND ONE. Then they go to ring it up. Clerk says Gun Computer NOT WORKING 😡 So I Ask for the Mgr. AGAIN! 15 minutes later, Mgr shows up, AGAIN. FINALLY AFTER ONE & a half HOURS, I get to finally pay for and walk out with my gun! FUQKING WALMART ! Just another reminder why I DONT SHOP THERE ! 🤠
I picked up a 11/87 20 this morning for my grandson when he's ready in a couple years. Till then it's going under the bed. I got delayed on the background so had to go back. In the hour I was gone they sold the other 2 they had left. LOL
Someone let me know when the Federal Blue box 30-30 and 243 roll back again. $5/box after rebate - I don't think I could load it for that.

We heard the back ground check system being down one time last year also. Mysteriously started working when manager showed up.

Wouldn't surprise me if some FFL holders strike deals with Walmart sporting goods dept 'associates' paying them a little extra 'under-the-table' to tip them off first to these extreme clearance priced sales and/or hold back some for them, then resell at a pretty healthy profit. Even Walmart with their high volume buying clout can't buy this stuff at anywhere near what they are clearance pricing them at.
I know several years back a local gun/pawn shop (no longer in business) owner bought up all of the remaining NIB, special for Walmart only run, of laminated, SS, 10/22 lr from a local Walmart close out priced @ $125 and resold them in his store
I was on the hunt for another $184 Remington 700, and let the 11-87's go. But only found one 700 at the clearance price, so decided to get an 11-87, or two, or maybe even three. Brickseek showed several around me, and I went hunting them yesterday. One was on "hold" waiting for the buyer to pass the background, so went to another store, and by the time I got there the one they had was gone.
Okay, say screw it and go home, as I really don't need another shotgun. Sleep on it, get up this morning and find one at a store about 45 minutes from me. Wasn't going to miss church, so I waited until almost 3 and called them to see if they had it, and they still did. Make the drive, wait almost an hour for the damned managers to show up and do the paperwork, and finally get out of there.
Wanna hear something......the dude scanned it, and said it was scheduled to drop to $125 on Tuesday if I wanted to wait till then. Told him I doubt it would still be there, and besides, $249 was a good deal.
Got back home, did some more research and found another 11-87 within driving distance. If it's still there Tuesday, and it drops to $125, I'm going to be there when they open up.

Some folks see that as sour grapes, I see it as good business. I don't blame anyone for making some money.
Having said that, if someone doesn't want to deal with that person, then that's their right not to do so.
First Walmart I stopped at today had sold the last 1187 20 gauge an hour before I got there. Saw an A17 sitting there marked at $299 and told the guy it was less than that now. He scanned it and said you're right and looks like it's gonna go down again in a few days. I said I'm not that interested in it but maybe I'll stop back this week and see if it's still there, he says no one has even looked at it yet..... soooo I may have to pick one up later this week.
I did get an 1187 20 at the next stop... they had an A17 sitting there marked at $187 or whatever they're going for now but I got the last 1187.

Again, it's not the straight forward first-come - first-served / early bird gets the worm sales that is a issue, it's the hiding, sneaky tipping-off family, friends, etc., and/or under the table kickback scheming by store employees,
I was on the hunt for another $184 Remington 700, and let the 11-87's go.
Damn! I’ll buy a spare if they go down to $125 and I can find another! Sure would like to find one of the 20 ga version’s with the 21” barrel. I can actually shoot better with the short barreled versions than the longer ones. I love those old Remington 1100 Special Field versions with the short barrel!!!

If they drop the price Tuesday shouldn't we be able to take the receipt back and get a refund for the difference? I did that with Leopold binoc's I bought last year...

Someone let me know when the Federal Blue box 30-30 and 243 roll back again. $5/box after rebate - I don't think I could load it for that.

So - Federal saw thru my scam and only sent rebates for one of the three addresses I sent in last year.... Dohhh! Still $9/box is okay, like old times.
Your story reminds me of the binocular deal I got last year. Guy tried everything to make it not work out. I was like, "you didn't look there, you didn't look there, look there, look in the other box, look under there...." Poor young fugger finally had to let me have 'em! One Weatherby was like that too. Gal was trying to save it and finally admitted such as she rang it up for me.

Are you serious??? Did you do that at Walmart???
I bought two pair of Leopold's last year for 100 each, took them back a week later when they were reduced. Bought them back at 50 each and bought the last pair they had for 50 also. Three pair for 150 bucks.... SaaaaWeet deal!

Walmart will do it unless you are Pollish.
Awesome!!! Wonder how many damn idiot Walmart managers I’ll have to go through to get the $125 credit back. 😬
I agree, any dishonest actions should be grounds for immediate termination.
Full time employees average $14/hr. One must remember that Dept managers, Personnel Managers, Loss Prevention Managers, HR Supervisors, Store Managers, Division Managers, National Marketing Managers, etc, etc, are all full time people who are calculated into the equation. The average associate on the floor ain't making $14/hr. My wife was working through the night stocking shelves for minimum wage.
But hey, they gave her a 10% discount card for any merchandise in the store, as long as it did not come from the grocery side.

FUQKERS did the same thing to me last year.
Had two Vanguards on the counter ready to buy.
OOPs. Can't sell them to you because the manager is at lunch.
Wait 45 minutes for the manager to come in.
OOPS. Can't sell them to you because the the Gun Computer is not working.
Watch him dick around with it for another 30 minutes.
Give him my number and tell him to call me when it is working.

Buy em all with the same debit / credit card???
Shoulda used cash .....
I bought several with the same MAC card last year and got rebates on all using my name and address and my GF's name and address... sent pics with each rebate submission with no issues (I submitted mine online). How would they know I didn't buy them for her, shouldn't matter how they were paid for (and apparently it didn't)...
Anybody have a spare Improved Cylinder 12 ga Remchoke they don’t need for my new 1187 ??? They only come with one which is Modified. I shoot much better with improved cylinder or skeet chokes it seems.

Not if you're going boar hunting with it using 8 shot! Lol
Brownells, free ship no minimum today. I ordered a Carlson Cylinder for my 20 for $13 and some change. It may be past their bedtime though.

That'd be nice, but doubt I could. Sign says guns and ammo sales are final, so I'm guessing that means just that.
Some folks see that as sour grapes, I see it as good business. I don't blame anyone for making some money.

Joken, that happens everywhere, not just at Walmart. I'd probably tell my friends too if I worked there. I agree that it's aggravating to go there, expecting to buy a clearance item, one that's showing up on Brickseek as being in stock, and being told that there are none left.
Last year, when the hunt was on for the Weatherby Vanguards, I found several on Brickseek in a Walmart up around Lexington. As I was going to go visit my grandson who lives in the area, I went there and was told that they were out. The guy working the sporting goods counter refused to go and look in the storeroom, and just walked off leaving me standing there. Several days later, I called the store again and the lady who was working there actually went to the storeroom, verified that they had 2 left, and after hearing what I told her happened, offered to hold them for me if I wanted to drive back and get them. I didn't go, but that shows that for every "bad" employee, there are good ones too.
Can’t find the 11-87 compact 20g anywhere in the Knoxville area unfortunately or I would grab one for my oldest who is 9.
Have so far experienced the best service from one store( guy told me to wait till tomorrow as prices going down again and no one has called or looked at the A17 and they have 4). Told me will be reducing Remington 770 but not 700 locally next week. Told me to call and ask for him and he would keep me in loop of what is going to be going on sale. Wish they had a couple good 22lr’s on sale for the kids like the rascal or cricket
One store was total opposite and said they didn’t have any 11-87 and that they weren’t on sale. Had manager come bring it out of the back. My buddy bought the 12g lol. That manager told him they had sold 7 in 48 hours and that price would drop again tomorrow but said he could not see what the price would be until the manager activated the code in the morning?

Calling is not a good move. It will lead to the gun being bought before you get there. It clues people in to the good deal that otherwise did not know about it.

People were doing it last year and it was working. Technically, I think it is not supposed to be allowed on clearance items, but they were getting their money back anyway. In my locations, the price has gone back up already.

Remington choke sets are on clearance as well, half off. Get all three chokes for $15

They will have to drop those Savage A17's to around $50 bucks before I'd be interested one. They'd make a good fence post for that price.

Wish I could find one, every Walmart I have called is out of the 1187's
I don't know if I would but much faith that they were truly out of stock from just a phone call with anonymous store employees. Too many have got that same response face to face in store but when pressed and pressured they often seemed to somehow find some stashed away somewhere.

Dont call...it is common for them to tell you that they are sold out because they are saving them for friends or themselves. If you call, you will often lose the deal.
Went in to a Wally Friday They said the machine was down. The manager put a 11-87 in its box and I wrote my name & number on the box. Went in a bit ago and gave them what for got the manager out and ran the info twice but the keypad for signature would not transfer. Made them hunt it up and make sure it was still there. It was. Gonna give 'em a day then go stand on their desk again. Still a 20 ga nearby to check on....a lot of 700' hereabouts but no price drop yet....

Went in one store today looking for a different deal and went over to the gun counter just to look. Heard the same thing although the clerk said that to another customer looking at an 870 that was not on sale, so maybe he was telling the truth. He said it'd be about a week before it was running again. However, I went in there knowing that Brickseek said that store had a 700 270 and 700 youth 243, both rifle/scope combos regularly $379, for $299. It also said they had an 11-87 12ga for $249 and a Savage Axis SS 6.5 CM for $199. NONE of those were on the rack. I asked if they had any guns on clearance and he said no but they might next month. Not interested in the Savage, not really interested in the 12ga or the 700s until the prices drop even lower, so I didn't push the issue with him. It sure looked like they were keeping the clearance guns in the back though.
Went in to a Wally Friday They said the machine was down. The manager put a 11-87 in its box and I wrote my name & number on the box. Had the same issue. Got the thing, finally, today. They DID give me a $20 gift card for my trouble. They put my name on it and put the gun in the “locker” where they keep NICS “delays”, so no one else would get it.
As mentioned, DO NOT call ahead. I’ve had clerks tell me “all we have is in the display case”, only to whip out my phone, show ‘em a Brickseek barcode, have them scan it, then they say “I’ll go see if maybe it’s in the back.”. Twice, they have come out 5 minutes later, with gun in hand.
Why wouldn’t you have a gun you are trying to get rid of (clearance) on display?? You know why....
try dexterclearance.com. Use the upc(barcode) to search and it will show the 20gauge 1187 and its availability. Thats what I used to get mine. Open up the barcode image and save that to your phone. Have a manager scan that image to verify they have one somewhere in stock. Preferably have the manager go look in the lockup, the countertard will usually be unable or unwilling to go in the back to look.

I know the main interest of this thread is guns, hunting, and shooting products but Brickseek is a good way to find lots of other things at substantially reduced prices, too. This time of year a lot of summer stuff is getting clearanced out, such as above ground swimming pools, kids swing sets, grills, patio furniture, mowers, coolers, etc.

Pffffffffft!!!
Hope it works out, good luck
I had the "machine is broke; system is down" power play tried on me.
I think its legit but had my doubts going back today this gun was not hidden it was on display but was afraid they would misplace it with my name on it. I got two Weatherbys at this store last year....
Thanks for the 20ga numbers and dexter info guys. Found several locally and will try to get one or two tomorrow. Crazy thing is I asked the guy today if he had any 20s and he said no.
Renegade and slumlord. I think the people at Walmart hate you. Lol. Ruining there white trash Christmas.
The guy I spoke with today seemed genuine, said at his store there really wasn’t much interest from employees in the guns even on sale. Heading out in morning to buy 2 700 adl 7mm mags and a A17 depending on price. Hopefully they still have them. The 700’s will make good donor actions I guess

That's great,
now how does one find a sku for one of them campmore (camp chef?) pizza ovens someone posted a pic of last week or so?
Maybe a big 2 burner propane stove suitable for a canning pot, big fryer, etc too?

Same as with guns ---> click on the 'SKU Finder' ---> type a brand name or a simple one-two word description of what you are looking for (camping stove(s), swimming pool, etc.) in the 'SKU Finder' field ---> then click on search. Scroll down the list (if any), ---> click on one you want to check out ---> enter your zip code, ---> click on "Check Inventory" . The SKU is in the main heading of every item description.

Will they let you put it on layaway to hold it, until their stuff is fixed?
I decided I didn't need another 11-87, so tipped a friend off as to where one was. He called me last night saying he got it, and while he was there he got to chatting with the girl who was waiting on him. Now, this guy can be a charmer, and I'm guessing she fell for his BS. Anyway, he said she showed him a list of stuff supposedly to have a big price drop this week.
Apparently, it's going to vary from store to store, as it depends on how well the items are selling at a particular store. At that store, the Savages are being dropped in price big time, along with Nikon and Leupold scopes. There's a few other goodies too, but I ain't letting the cat completely out of the bag until I get mine.

My wife will be in Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Montana from now until September on a road trip.
I've already given her a list of SKUs synched up with walmarts along the path of her existing itinerary.

Sticking it to walmart is like crack to her.
Sent it. By the way, if you remember back to what we were looking for last year, when you hit all the Kentucky stores before I did.....lol......I scored on one very similar yesterday.....at 129.99.
Yep.....

Just left my local Walmart. They've got 1 of the 20" black 1187's for $249. Not my cup of tea, so someone else can have at it, if they like. South FL. Zip 33330.
It is not priced correctly in the case, so not drawing a lot of attention. I have known the clerk in sporting goods and have been friendly with him for many years. Asked him to scan it, and it came back with sale price of $249.

I got a Rem 700 adl in 223 and 270 today for $184 each. The girl at the counter said she had just sold 3 243's and a 308 30 minutes before I got there. Said she could only sell 4 rifles to 1 person thats why the other 2 were still there. I also got a pair of the nikon prostaff 3 binos for $64. Trying to decide if I need a savage a17. Anybody have one, how do they shoot"

I'm not sure the girl said she went to enter 5 into the computer and said it wouldn't let her do the sale. She seemed pretty honest. It was the best customer service I have ever received at a walmart sporting goods counter. She said if she has the guns shes going to sell em.

Why would they have a 4 gun restriction?
My store went to a 1 gun per person limit during the clearance last year because their background check machine was down and they thought it was the fair way to let everyone get a deal. If the machine would not have been broken, I would have purchased more rifles, included a $399 mini 14. Just the way it goes. My buddy bought 1 and went to another sportings good store and had them price match it and bought several more.
I'm still showing the adl's at $379 on Brickseek... why does it not reflect the sale price?
Not all stores are marking them down. My understanding is that some stores are not going to.
And even at the stores that are, it varies from store to store as to what calibers and version of ADLs are getting clearanced too.
Oddly, from what I've seen on Brickseek, only the ADL scope/rifle package deals are being clearance priced. So far plain ADLs without scopes, and in certain barrel lengths aren't being clearance discount priced.
Who knows how big business bean counters brain's work?
Is there any quantity at which your background check gets flagged or slowed down because of the quantity of firearms you've bought in a specified period of time?

As far as I know, and this ain't written in stone by any degree, the only Model 700 ADL's that I know that Walmart has, are the package rifles, with the 3X9 scope. They all have synthetic stock and 24 inch barrel. That's in the Walmarts where I've been in looking at guns, and that is probably about 12 different ones in all. I have occasionally seen a wood stocked BDL, but it's been a long time since I saw one of them.
Having said that, I'm sure not every Walmart is alike as far as what they carry, because it probably varies from one part of the country to another, as far as what sells in that area., and what doesn't.
Is there any quantity at which your background check gets flagged or slowed down because of the quantity of firearms you've bought in a specified period of time?
No. However if you purchase more than one handgun from the same retailer in a 7-day period, they’re supposed to fill out a “multiple handgun form” and mail that in to the FBI.
Is there any quantity at which your background check gets flagged or slowed down because of the quantity of firearms you've bought in a specified period of time?
Not that I am aware of there are no "limits" have done paperwork on three to five at a time and it has always been approved a if I was buying one, picked up 10 or more last year during the Wally World frenzy no problems....
[quote=claytonsdad]Is there any quantity at which your background check gets flagged or slowed down because of the quantity of firearms you've bought in a specified period of time?
While there may not be a problem with background checks, there is additional paperwork a seller has to fill out and submit to the BATF if a buyer wants 2 or more handguns or 5 or more long guns in a period of 5 consecutive business days. I'm sure that's what the Walmart employee was talking about when she said she didn't want to sell more than 4 long guns at a time.
Just got a message from a nephew who is in Louisville KY on business and said he stopped in a Walmart there to look around, and found an 870 marked down to $150, and some scopes on clearance too. He didn't say what kind.
I did go in the local Walmart here this morning, and they had 16 gauge high brass Federal #6's for $7 a box.

The 5 long gun rule only applies in border states. I bet the more likely reason is that the 4473 only has 4 preprinted slots to enter the guns into, and they're either unaware of the fact that you simply list additional guns on a separate piece of paper, or are simply too lazy to do so.
HH has it correct. I recently transferred 19 (nineteen) firearms to myself from inventory. There is no "pumping the brakes" in a NICS check. There ARE, however, stupid retail employees.
Picked up a pair of 1187’s one twelve gauge for me and twenty gauge for my kids to use. In and out in half an hour. Guy working the counter said “a guy just came in here and looked at that, said he’d be back to pick it up later.” Money talks and bullcit walks I guess.
Check the crossbows. Wasnt looking for one but they had one on clearance for $59. Killer Instinct 370 Bone Collector. Must have been last years model. I figured this may allow my 7 year old the chance to shoot a deer soon with it.
Picked up a couple of the 1187 20 gauges for both my boys as well in the past week.

And also, the multiple handgun purchase form is a non-issue because Walmart quit selling handguns many years ago. It wasn’t “PC” so Walmart got rid of them.

I seen 16 gauge fed high brass 1 1/8th oz 7.5 1290fps at sango wally world today for 5.49. Heckava deal. Had about 10 boxes of it.
Had some 12 ga 1 1/4th oz 7.5 for 8.67. Doing 1330 fps
Didnt get any. Little to stout for dove for my shoulder .
Got 6 boxes rem 1 1/8th #8,s 1235 fps nitro 27 premier handicap insted. 6.57 a box Only remington product I buy is their shotshells.
Heard today in a span of ten minutes two guys tell their fat girlfriend, "look at that knife, it's a Gerber!" Second one baught it. Not a single item mentioned here was displayed with the proper clearance tags. All on reserve apparently.

Bunch of those x Bows in this area for 59 bucks.
I have zero interest in them but my 7 year old thinks they are the coolest thing. He shot it a couple times today after I sighted it in. Personally I think they are a real pain to have to cock and I get no joy from shooting them like I do my compounds, but for $60 I couldn't turn,it down, just to play around with.
I thought I found a 11/87 in Greenville Tx. two days a go. Dove the over 50 miles one way to get it. When I got there I was told it was waiting on the background check to clear that was delayed.
Called about 2 in Tyler that brickseek showed to be in stock . I called and was told they weren't there. The next day brick seek showed that store had limited stock instead of two available.
. Called about another limited stock shown at a different Tyler store and that shotgun supposedly had a broken stock. I said I would take it but he said he couldn't sell it.
I called one Walmart in Wylie I don't know how many times that showed Limited stock and could never get anybody to answer the phone in sporting goods except for once when a Nigerian sounding guy told me there may be one but call after 11 when the regular person shows up. I should have called the manager I guess to have handled that.
I've checked every Walmart from Texarkana to Ft. Worth and from Southern Oklahoma to Tyler no luck on the 11/87.
Seems like according to the folks here with experience in these things, calling is not the thing to do. calling and asking for a manager might work, going there and asking for the manager seems to be the ticket when shenanigans are being pulled.
Calling ahead about these tip off the employees. Its just part of the game finding items close enough at enough of a discount to make the drive and be willing to deal with the frustration of going home empty handed at times.
I have called ahead several times, and will do that rather than drive a few hours only to be told it's not there. One sporting goods manager told me that they cannot hold items for customers, and that if they are caught doing so, they can lose their jobs. He told me in so many words that they sometimes check up on them, and I'm guessing that's why they won't hold stuff. Although, last year an employee of the Sikeston MO Walmart hid the last $99 Nikon Monarch for me.
As far as them calling a buddy and telling him that a certain item is there on clearance, after you've called and asked about it, that's just a chance you take. Losing an item on clearance is not the end of the world.
Some of the 700's(7 mags) are $184 in ohio, around cincy. Only found the 7 mags though
I have found only ONE Model 700 on clearance, and it was a 7 RM. That means one thing to me......it is no longer a popular cartridge, and people are just not buying them. I'll either stash mine away, sell it, or if I keep it, rechamber it.

Good luck in your search.

You can obviously tell the ones that have myself, renegade and jamesjr on ignore. Either that or they just drop in here and don't read previous posts and expect to be spoonfed beta and data.
Go ahead and call the store. That's a great idea. 😄😄
Not going to do anyone's homework for them, but if I lived in a certain part of the country, and wanted a Remington 700 in a choice of calibers for $184, I'd be at Walmart right now instead of sitting at home reading this.
DO NOT CALL. repeat---- DO NOT CALL
DO NOT MENTION BRICKSEEK EITHER
Brickseek is an awesome tool, but if Walmart corporate gets a bunch of complaints from their stores that 'smart' shoppers are using it and demanding service based upon those inventory numbers it could result in the system being shut down....... Do not kill the goose that laid the golden egg!
There are other calibers floating around on clearance. Not just 7mm mags. I know 243 for certain was put on clearance also.
The clearance process seems VERY random, but from what I have seen, if a certain model/caliber gun sits for more than 3 years in a store it will get flagged in a corporate system to be clearanced in that store. The store 15 minutes away does not clearance the exact same thing because they sold one in the same time frame. Just my guess though

Yup
When idiots (who have been told a dozen times) are let in on a good thing...they can fugg it up like coons in a corn patch.
Brickseek is still showing 3 ADLs clearance priced for $184.00 in stock at the same Walmart in my general area. All three are scope/rifle combs --- one ( "Limited Stock" ?) in .270, and two -.243 youth models.
I hate Walmart. Stopped at one in Bowling Green KY, and there was an 11-87 20 gauge for $249, and the damn thing followed me home, along with a set of 12 gauge Remchokes that were on clearance for 15 bucks.

Well i checked two more Walmarts, brickseek said they were out of 1187s . Figured I'd look anyway. Found a 20 gauge 1187 compact 21" for $249 . It followed me home
I picked up a Nikon Prostaff 3S 10x42 binocular for $64 (around $100 normally) yesterday. Very nice optics for the price. Showed them to the wife and after she looked through them she went and bought the last one left.

Local WM showed 1 in stock for $30 but no love at the store when I got there so went to next for $64. Still worth it IMO.
I already sent ya a text. The 3 stores said they cant move em. Hayseeds ain't got squat for dough . You know that. I will be at your house in the morning at 7 Road trip. I got enough cash to by 5 without khan/ wife getting sniffs of me spending benjamins. Gonna have ta hit these stores hard and fast dude
14 total in stock between the 3 stores.
I wont even use a fugging leupold scope. Schit gonna be trade bait..... Just like weatherby,s last year.
My 7 year old has been wanting his own computer. Found him an Acer 15.6" Intel I5 HD screen etc on clearance through dexter. The grunt behind the counter didn't want to let it go. Drug his feet every way possible. We were patient and got it for $150, normal price was $559.
Went to another walmart and found an 11/87 youth 20 gauge for $249. Was going to buy that for him too but mom said no you already got him a lap top. Dang computer.
Nikon D3400 Digital SLR Camera with 24.2 Megapixels and 18-55mm Lens Included MSRP: $649.95 SKU: 149947020 UPC: 018208015719
$124.00 81% off
Damn it man your killing me! Closest in stock to me is 100 miles away. 😢
Go for it, hour and a half.
I’m seriously thinking about it. My old Canon Digital SLR finally gave up the ghost last year. I enjoy shooting wildlife with a camera just as much as I enjoy shooting them with a rifle or shotgun nowadays.
1. BrickSeek is a third party application. Retail stores will not honor inventory or pricing discrepancies between their store and BrickSeek. 2. Theft, loss, and other circumstances at the store level can cause inventory inaccuracies. 3. Please do not use BrickSeek as a point of reference when talking to retailers. 4. Be respectful and happy deal seeking!
Picked up another 1187 20ga today at a Walmart that didn't show it in stock. Pure accident! Also seen four of the Nikon binos for $64. each reg $124. Didn't buy, clerk said in two weeks if remaining they would go to $32. ea. GW
Thanks. Went to the 24 hour Walmart last night and bought the last 2.
Got 1 this morning about 35 miles west of you. Did you go to that one up the road on the pennyrile???
They went fast at the store I hit. Inventory showed several at that store early yesterday evening. Slumlord wussed out on going with me . Fugg it Still got 4 benjamins in my wallet. Ain't even worried about the store and stock at the store in TN that still shows 2 in stock.
Scope is trade bait now for local gun wheeling and dealing. Leupolds.......... not a fanboy......

got mine locally, didn't have to drive far.
Nephew claims he talked to a guy that bought a couple of 700's for $184, a 243 and 270. Said Brickseek didn't show them marked down, but he asked the clerk to scan them, and they came up at that price. Clerk said they weren't advertising them for a reason. ?????......wonder why.
I didn't see the Leupolds on Brickseek, just went to the store and they were there.

Sheridan road (wallyhood) has more than one there. Also has a A17. The ritzy store has all the 700's though not marked down on brickseek. Might want to get them to scan one....
Getting ready to leave on a road trip through Tennessee to hit the Walmarts. Hate to pay that damned 10% sales tax, but they are showing up on Brickseek as the only ones who have what I'm looking for. I need to get a pic of slumlord and renegade, so I'll know what the competition looks like, in case I see them there. So, slum and renny, if you see an old man wearing a CPS cap, accompanied by a good looking blonde, it could be me. Give me holler if you do.

It’ll be easy to spot a good looking blond in Walmart. 😜

We hit up the one near 101st Airborne pky again this morn in the rain.
Ginger fellow working there seemed sincere in his naïveté.
Nonetheless, he smelled like he'd been hosed down tom cat whizz. Gawd Had to keep 10ft back.
Said the crossbows were full price. 20 mins of back and forth and finally started to gag and dry heave, felt like I was in a time tunnel of funk.
Wife saw some wooden Adirondack chairs on Brickseek for $17, and said she wanted to look at them. Several different Walmarts were supposed to have them, so we took a little road trip yesterday. Went to three different ones that showed a total of 12 available........found none, zero, zip, nada. It's hard to hide something as big as a chair, so they didn't have them stuck away under the counter, holding them for a friend. Maybe they were there, somewhere, but no one knew a thing, so that sucked.
Did get a trail camera for a good price, but no guns. Sporting goods guy at one store looked like he needed to be in the nursing home, rather than out working in public. I knew more about what the store had than he did.

The wood Adirondack chairs are, "Some Assembly Required", so other than maybe a already assembled display example(s?), the rest would probably still be in their original shipping boxes, which, although likely a bit heavy, I'd imagine really wouldn't take up all that much storage space, and likely as not, may be mixed in with something else.

The problem is in finding a Walmart employee that will go look for them. Last year, during the hunt for the Weatherby Vanguards, Brickseek showed a couple at a store in Lawrenceburg. I was up that way, so I stopped in to check. It took forever to find a clerk, but when I finally did, he flat told me that they were sold out and he should know, and furthermore, wasn't going to go and look in the gun room. He then walked off, leaving me standing there. Several days later, Brickseek was still showing them, so I called and got a lady on the phone. She went and looked, called me back, and verified they still had the ones that Brickseek showed. I told her what had happened with the other clerk, and she apologized profusely, and told me that if I wanted to come back and get them, she would hold them for me...........something that was against store policy, but she felt bad about what had happened.
At another Walmart in Nicholasville, the clerk said they did have some Vanguards, but he was told not to sell them at that price, because he felt a mistake had been made, and he was waiting for clarification from higher up......lol,lol, a bullchit story if I ever heard one. He was holding them for himself and his friends. I went online and turned him in, not that it did any good, but I wanted corporate to know what an azzhole they had working for them.
My point is that if you're looking for something, whether or not you find it is most likely up to the employees finding it for you. The trail camera I bought yesterday was locked away in a cabinet that no one could see, along with other stuff that the clerk claimed was things that were easily shoplifted. So....go figure.

The base model gas grill I found last year via Brickseek at a local Lowe's priced at $26 was no where to be found in floor inventory, although computer inventory had 1 still listed. Two different store associates really did try their best for well over a half hour to find it (one young man even postponed his lunch break he was about to start to help search) but with no luck. I had decided to give up, go back home and forget about it but as I was leaving the store I happened to notice a bunch of assembled 'display' grills of all sizes and brands lined up in rows outside with padlocked chains running through them. I thought, what the heck, as long as I'm here I might as well check them out too. Low and behold the 1 remaining grill I was searching for was right there. Went and got a store clerk again, he got keys for padlock, I paid and left with my new $26 gas grill.
Brickseek showed a Tennessee Walmart had 5 trail cameras, made by Covert for Mossy Oak, originally priced at $142, marked down to $35. Figured that was a good deal, and I could always peddle them off for a profit, so went there this morning. Clerk said the only trail cams were the ones they had on display. I made him look them up, and he says, yep, it shows we have them.
Looks under counter in a locked drawer, and there they are. Were thy hiding them? They'd been showing up on Brickseek for over a week, so it would seem that if they were holding them for someone, then that person would have picked them up. I don't know what the deal is on some stuff, as it makes you scratch you head.

Anyway, I'm in the trail cam business cheap.
Could be because Walmart pays bi-weekly, too...
...and/or holding them back waiting for the clearance price to drop even lower...
Yes it is. Shot mine today with the 12 ga 1187 . That 20 will make a good little bird gun. Or even 6s for early squirrels
They just went to $124 around here. No 12s left anywhere near but a couple 20s.
Buddy. Hook me up!
One store showing 2 left about an hour away. i was there this morning and some guy from 3 hours away was buying both. Did get a $199 Leupold rangefinder for $54 so it wasn't a total loss.
Stock showed 4 at local store manager said they were spoken and their system is down Cant believe they havent sold a gun in 2 weeks Some one gots the hookup. but they only have 2 in stock
Ontario RAT 1's are down to $7 each. Spyderco Resilience's to $13 each. I bought every one they had at the Walmart I went to. Also got one of the Leupold RX-650 laser rangefinders for $54, and 2 of the Nikon Prostaff 10x42 binoculars for $30 each.
Just picked up 5 Ontario RAT 1's for $7 each. Didn't have any of the Spyderco Resilience's. Not many walmarts near me carry firearms so i'm screwed on the Remingtons.
Saw a set of 20 gauge Remchokes for $19. Found some $124 11-87's, just don't know if I want to drive that far. My work around the farm is calling me....lol.
Went to get the rangefinder, my local walmarts didn't show any guns on sale the past few days. Saw a guy in there buying a 1187 and asked if was the deal, he said it didn't show at the store but it was in stock, he was getting a 12, they said they had a 20 in stock. He told me he bought all the rangefinders in all the local walmarts and I was out of luck. When he left, the lady pulled me one out from under the counter.
So...a 1187 compact 20 and a leupold rangefinder for 190otd...good day.

I got a line on a 20, just don't know if I want to go full ass hole on them.
I got two stores I've been dealing with and they are playing the 'pretend moron' game really hard. You walk a fine line between getting it and not getting dragged out by Deputy Billy Bob.

My bud, despite the fact that he has a concealed carry license, held a secret clearance on active duty and got a UPN got put on hold when he went to buy his 11-87. He knew the price was going to drop, so today he gets to pick it up for $124. Bless his heart.
The ones that I've found at $124 are "on hold", supposedly waiting for a background check to clear. They said they have to hold them for 30 days. Never heard of it taking that long to do a NICS check.
If anyone gets a deal on an 1187 20ga compact, and they decide they don't want it, I'd love to get one for my 9 year old. He broke his first clay pigeons this summer, shooting with his older cousins, and now he's hooked!
I'm happy to pay $300, plus shipping to my FFL to get him one.

I had low expectations of my son and I actually getting the two Rem 700 youth 243 combo rifles showing in stock at $89 at our local Walmart but we were able to snag them. I also picked up a Mossberg 835 camo 24" turkey gun for $199.
First we were told they didn't have them. I handed them a paper with the UPC and SKU and asked them to look in the back room. We were told that the key to the storage could not be located. After a long wait they were found but told us it would take a long time since there was a lot of stuff stacked in front of the locked storage. No problem, we can wait. After at least an hour, they were hauled out to the sporting goods counter. The counter clerk punched in the serial number for the Mossberg and said "uh-oh, I can't sell you this because it's not in our inventory." I told him that would be a pretty big problem if they were to be checked. I suggested that he scan the barcode and what do you know, it was OK to sell. The same guy kept scanning the rifles and showing them to his coworker, explaining with a sad face that these are over $400 at Bud's. I had to redo my online 4473 after they screwed up their part. While finishing up my son's rifle purchase they scanned my shotgun which caused a mismatch and another 20 minutes of confusion. The finishing touch was running out of paper when printing their hard copies of the 4473.
I honestly couldn't tell if we ruined someone's scheme or just witnessed total incompetence. Either way, with 2+ hours of frustration, our mission was a success. Thanks Brickseek! (and 24hcf)
1 Gamo .22 cal Whisper Fusion Elite with 3-9x40 scope for $54 (reg $226)
1 Remington Express 20ga choke pack (IC and full choke with choke wrench, since the 1187 only comes with a mod choke) for $10
1 Rem 1187 20ga for $249
PS: if anyone got the 20ga 1187 and needs the extra chokes, I know where 3 or 4 packages are available in the Reno NV area, and I wouldn't mind picking one up for you and mailing it out for my cost + shipping.

Thanks!
I hope you can connect. I don't think I can part with it (I already sold the extra one off to a friend) but you'll be the first to know. Good luck.
None of the 700s are on sale in northern NV except the 7mm Mag for $184.
Unfortunately, I just don't like the recoil of the magnums anymore. If I could rebarrel it with a takeoff barrel to a smaller caliber, I'd grab one - but as far as I know, that isn't feasible with a 7 mag.

Anybody looking to make some money that came across a Leupold Rangefinder let me know. Too many hours working right now to even sleep enough let alone hunt a deal.

How da hail is that kid 9?
Geez.
I know, right? We just got him his first mountain bike this past weekend, so he's got gears now, like all his friends.
His sister is now super-motivated to get the training wheels off her bike and join him in the world of 2-wheels. She high-centered her back tire on a trail the other day, so the benefits are not lost on her.
Things went a bit smoother today. It only took 45 minutes for the same crew minus the assistant manager. Rem 770 243 youth combo for $64. Had a nice conversation with another customer while waiting. He was buying two Savage 220 and one 212 slug guns for $129 and $139. On the down side, I was two minutes late getting to the bait shop. We'll just have to do without perch minnows tomorrow morning.
The ones that I've found at $124 are "on hold", supposedly waiting for a background check to clear. They said they have to hold them for 30 days. Never heard of it taking that long to do a NICS check.
Here in Kentucky, my CC permit is all I need.
Try Oregon. Their NICS is conducted by Or State Police, and they charge you ten bucks to record make, model, and serial number.
A few years ago, I got held up for 180 days on the purchase of a 10-22. Last year it was three days on a Walmart clearance Vanguard in 243 in Oregon. The amusing thing is, in that three days I purchased another Vanguard in each of two separate Idaho Walmarts. Idaho uses the FBI NICS. They do not record anything except Rifle/Handgun/Shotgun, it is free, and it took less than ten minutes.
I am not sure what they told you....but that weren't a KFC you was at......
Since I don't eat much KFC, don't really know what their side dishes are, but................there's nothing better than to take a cabbage, quarter it up, put it in a big pot of water, season it good with salt, black pepper, and some red pepper, and boil it until it's falling apart. Fry up some cornbead, crumble it up into a bowl of that cabbage, and it's a meal fit for a king.
Thanks guys .. I picked up a Savage A17 for $99 bucks, and managed to swing a 11-87 compact 20 gauge out of it as well.. the 11-87 has a 21 inch barrel that takes 3”, and only weights 6lbs 7oz, so it’s a perfect brushy rabbit gun (short and balances well).
Heck they even had chokes on sale (the 11-87 only comes with a modified)... so I’m set ... wow smoking deals.

KFC buffet starts at 4:30
*they have to keep the livers off the buffet or people will lose their mind and founder

All of the places here that have buffets had to take chicken livers, frog legs, and crab legs off their menus because the Negroes would crowd around them and scarf them up before anyone else had a chance to get any.
Boomer, we say the same thing about the North down here.....lol.
No sweet tea!
No sweet tea at the Kalispell Wendys across from the walmart. I told the lil gal thru the speaker, I guess we have arrived at an impasse. Mello yello and spicey nuggets just ain't the same.
Dropped by the Sparks, NV Walmart on a hunch tonight.
I remembered seeing 2 Nikon Prostaff 3s 10x42s earlier on sale for $64 and I had told myself that if they went down any further, I'd grab them.
Today, Brickseek said the price had gone down to $30, but reported that there were none left at that store.
So I walked into the sporting goods section and got down to peer into the bottom shelf of the locked glass case, and right there, just behind a Nikon Prostaff 7s 10x42 box, was the edge of a box on which I saw "3s".
I called in a manager (the regular attendant was on break) and asked her to take out the binoculars from that section and scan them for me.
BOTH of the Nikons I had seen before were there, tucked back in the shadows behind the 7s. She scanned them and I went home with 2 for $30 each. My grandkids are going to love them!

Ive been pleasantly surprised by them. Im happy at $64 and would pay that for another set.
Just curious - what is the barrel length on the 12 gauge 11-87’s.
the 20 gauges are “compact’” with 21” barrels which I thought would be too short, but the buggers balance really well and make excellent bunny brush guns.

Score for Czech. I had to go to the state capital aboot 25 miles away and did get an 1187 12 gauge for $249 and A-17 for $184.
Both great for stuff I didn't really need but great deals nonetheless I can see the 1187 for waterfowl in [bleep] conditions and the A17 for some close rapid response vermin control but it still is a awesome deal .
I did snag a couple of Youth Model 700's for $89 each. Freaking ridiculous, as the junk scope that comes with them would probably sell for that in some places. Haven't seen any good deals on scopes around here, but haven't really been looking, as I don't need any.
There are still a few 11-87's out there if I wanted to make a drive and go find them, but I'm done chasing deals this year. I thought about buying one of those Savage A17's, but have never owned a Salvage firearm, and see no reason to start now. Besides, I see no point in a 17 caliber semi auto rifle.
The challenge with the shotguns now is that many of the remaining shotguns are on hold for background check delays. It can be a long drive to go get skunked. I picked up 2 pair of Nikon Prostaff 3 binoculars at $30 a pair yesterday and 3 pair of Nikon Monarchs ($59 each) along with a Gamo Swarm Maxxis air rifle (scoped) for $49

Yeah, I know where a 12 is that is waiting for the background check, 3 weeks now. I wouldn't drive very far to end up going on a wild goose chase. I bought a pair of the Nikon Monarch binoculars last year on clearance and they're good ones, but I'm not a big bino person. Keep a pair in the truck, and a compact pair in my turkey vest, and that's all I use them for.
Now that my neighbor that used to sunbathe has moved, I've no longer any need for that 60X spotting scope either.
