The old Leupold Detacho mounts are repeatable too.

I like Warnes, except that the detached recoil lug is too easy to lose when swapping scopes in the field.

Did anyone watch the Facebook live Greg Ritz did on Saturday? Sounds like they will make accessories first and should be out this fall. I hope they succeed, as I’d love to see their Icon come back. I regret never buying one.

No. Gives information out that could attract the wrong people. The world has changed too much and too the bad side.

Re: Bear Creek Arsenal 10mm. Hudge 05/07/24
I’ve not shot a BCA 10mm or even seen one, but I have shot the CMMG Banshee in 10mm. If the BCA is anything like my son’s 7.62x39 AR pistol, I’d save up for the CMMG myself.

Re: .357 Maximum Jozzle 05/07/24
Thanks Dinny. I'm working on getting a cast now.

And, that was quick. Welcome CW.

If I recall .357 Mag at max load runs out of steam at about 20". I'm looking for maximum velocity, I dont supose you remember your bullet recipe. Just trying to estimate where I might land with handloaded ammo.

Thats why I'm wondering about it being properly cut as I ran bufallo bore which is a pretty hot load. I was pretty surprised to see it blow back. I got interupted today but I'll try to get a casting in the next day or two.

Thanks for the input.

Re: Gettysburg 257_X_50 05/07/24
I live 6 miles away.
First visited in the early 60s from New York…..upstate
My dad studied history and did his thesis on Gettysburg
He was alway quite the tour guide.
He moved 20 miles away from Gettysburg about 40 years ago.
Did volunteer work at the Army War College…..
Used to go to the Roundtables with him.
It is never boring. Always moving.
And yes…..Belle Italia and Dobbin house

Likely a one of a kind.. and no idea how much of it is factory.

Receiver front is stamped E G.
Barrel is 22" in 300 Savage - so not an EG.
No serial number on forearm.
Bolt and inner lever is jeweled - which was an option from 1910's - 1930's.
Tang safety, looks very similar to one that Fug has and similar to a patent filed about that time.
99RS type studs.. though they are thinner than 1941 and earlier 99RS studs.
99R V1 buttstock with fluted comb.

My best guess is that it's an employee rifle, or one made up as a presentation rifle. They added on features close to 1930's options - 99K style checkering, damascened bolt/finger lever, recoil pad - and tada.

410 will kill at 50 no problem. We shoot viper #10 tss. I’ve seen 4 fall to it so far and one was 50yds running.
I have a 28 to get fixed up as well.
Look at some of the custom type shops loading ammo. Verdict, foxtrot, viper, apex.
I’d do 9/10 blends for a 28. (If legal in your state).

Maybe a good reason to not wear a belt? I mean, hitting the guard rail multiple times, then going down and embankment, and being strapped in and alive when B'r Bear comes to munch on you might be worse than being thrown out the car and being dead when getting munched on, right?

Surely you jest ?
Probably would have walked away from the crash had he been wearing a seatbelt. Most folks get only minors scrapes and bruises in a crash like that if wearing a seat belt.
The bear found him after he died.

I have a kifaru gun bearer as well, but that frame pack has lots more stories.

Damn David, you must be as old as me. Poor enlisted GI here so mine was attached to a Camp Trails pack with a moose bag. Were you ever stationed in AK?

Easy choice for me, Hornady Interlock.

If for some reason the rifle did not shoot them to my satisfaction. I would try Ballistic tips next.

Re: HK 45 K1500 05/07/24
I was tempted to purchase one myself, but holding one a few times basically cured me of it. They seem really top heavy/high bore axis. I think there was a series of videos where Vickers talks about how it will be a 1911 killer etc. I’m sure it’s a good gun, almost anything HK is, but it didn’t impress me enough to buy.

Re: Time Traveler’ From The Future Warns Of 5 Huge Events Jim in Idaho 05/07/24
I like time travel.

A time traveler goes back in time to win a $1,000,000,000 lottery, then he uses that money to fund the development of a time machine. Which came first?

A man has a family heirloom, a necklace passed down in his family from his great grandmother. He falls into a time warp and goes back in time, falls in love with the young woman who will become his great grandmother, and gives her the necklace. When was the necklace made?

So the bartender says, "we don't serve time travelers in here!"

A time traveler walks into a bar.
