Antlers Coming On
1minute
04/20/24
Their coats look like crap, but antlers are starting to develop. Cookie caught these three wandering through the back yard this afternoon. Taken just out the back door. Mule deer SE Oregon. We'll try to keep track of their development as time passes. And she caught Rock Chuck passing through Oregon a couple days back She's not been doing much lately with both a hip and knee replacement on the port side. Hoping she can shake off the issues before summer actually gets here. Have a good one,

Re: New lake in North Texas...

Open for business as of last Wednesday, April 17, 2024: http://www.ntxe-news.com/artman/publish/article_137392.shtmlFannin County, Texas -- Bois d'Arc Lake, the first large Texas reservoir to open in more than 30 years, is now open for recreation. Apparently, the opening came Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024, with little fanfare and no advance public information from its operator, North Texas Municipal Water District. The 17,000-acre lake has a surface area of 26 square miles. Fishermen have their eye on this lake because Texas Parks & Wildlife Department has made the most of its opportunity to stock Bois d'Arc Lake with the finest genetics available for largemouth bass.

A Coaches' Wisdom Passed On To His Player
SBTCO
04/20/24
At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside And asked, "Do you understand what coopertion is? What a team is?" "Yes, coach", replied the little boy. " Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse the umpire or call him an ashole. Do you understand all that?" Once more, the small boy nodded in agreement. The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play, it's not a dumb-ass decision or that the coach is a s h i t head is it?" "No, coach." "Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother.”

Tired of boiling water every time you make pasta?
Boil up a big batch, then freeze it for later use.

Re: Peeling Potatoes

Cleaning those tater peelers took longer than doing it by hand. I got to where I could break 4 eggs at a time - 2 in each hand, and not get hardly any shells in the pot.

Re: Rimfire scopes

A Baby Redfield 4x is my scope of choice on most of my rimfires. My Springfield 1922 M2 Custom Sporter wears a Lyman Alaskan in a Griffin & Howe mount, went pure nostalgia as far as the scope on that one. The ALaskan has a 2 minute LEE dot and if I do my part it easily puts 50 rounds into one ragged hole @ 50yds. with CCI Std. Vel. ammo.
