Thanks for a great post on a great gun with a good story. It's always goof for a little vicarious thrill reading stuff like this, and it's reassuring to know such a fine gun and piece of history and the gunmaker's art is in good hands now. I had the pleasure of shooting a number of great old BPE doubles a friend of mine had. He was recoil shy and always enlisted me to shoot them because he knew I could give him his best and most accurate gauge of how they were really shooting. He was sharp enough to know to keep loads mild, which he was glad to do because of his own recoil intolerance. Later, he found he had a spur on his shoulder joint, and got it fixed, but that too gave him problems for years. They are VERY interesting and intriguing and just plain "different" to shoot and load for. Thanks again for taking the time to post this for us.
