If someone pushes to the point of being a Troll "name calling and slandering" it easy to just not reply. If you don't participate in there little escalade they find it rather difficult to have a one sided conversation.

In short, don't feed the troll and he will eventually starve

Good bullets properly placed always work, but not everyone knows what good bullets are, or can reliably place them in the field
