While I have no doubt some of the hits are retaliatory, I think it's rare they're actually trying to knock them out for multiple games. I played hockey for almost 20 years and yes, I gave a guy a shot or we droooed the gloves, but neither of us were trying to permanently hurt the other.
I agree, and watching the hit in slow motion confirmed it was just reactionary...wasn't like "concussion" was on his mind.
